Social Sciences Vocational School Unit Advisory Board Meeting Held

Our College Unit Advisory Board Meeting was held on November 1, 2023. The meeting was attended by Vocational School Director Prof. Dr. Özlem Tagay, Deputy Directors Dr. Lecturer Hasret Öztürk and Lecturer Işıtan Mehmet Taş, Head of Office Services and Secretariat Department Assoc. Dr. Meral Bektaş, Head of Journalism and Reporting Department Lecturer Timur Osman Gezer, Head of Management and Organization Department Lecturer Fatih Gündoğdu, Burdur Governorship 112 Emergency Call Center Director Mehmet Saraoğlu, President of Burdur Chamber of Certified Public Accountants and Financial Advisors Gürhan Özveren, President of 54th Region Burdur Pharmacists' Chamber Pharmacist Ferdi Demirol, Chief Clerk of Burdur Justice Commission Presidency Sedat Ekizler, Burdur İŞKUR Job Club Leader Nihan Yıldırım, Team Leader of Contact Call Center (32Net) company Mehmet Ali Bulut, Employee of Burdur Governorship 112 Emergency Call Center Gülsüm Durmaz, ERAH Aviation Academy Quality and SMS Manager Mehmet Ali Genç, College Secretary Fatih Sayar, and College Director's Private Secretary Sibel Türkoğlu.

At the meeting where sector representatives presented their suggestions regarding the education provided at our college, joint studies that could be carried out with institutions were discussed. In this context, topics such as signing protocols with the units of sector representatives, increasing the opportunities for students to be present in public-private workplaces during the education-teaching period, planning seminars from within the sector during the education-teaching period, creating opportunities for students to take an active role in sector activities, increasing bilateral collaborations between the sector and the university, sharing ideas for quotas to be allocated to students undergoing vocational training in enterprises, and evaluating the course contents that students can take to be more prepared for professional practices were discussed.
